Have you ever wanted something really badly and it seems to be in reach and then just like that it’s snatched away? What goes through your mind at that time? Do you just sigh and move on or hold on hoping it might turn around? Or do you think like Shakespeare said “Expectation is the root of all heartache.”? Maybe we set our expectations too high and that’s why we get hurt or have what we want just float away. Or is it as has always been said it’s God’s way of tempering those expectations?

Not now, No or Yes

Man, it can hurt, but what to do? Do you throw yourself on the ground and throw a tantrum like a baby or just move on? I tend to move on but it’s not easy. I have found that waiting and keep wanting will not help. It only holds you back and keep you in the past. Now the question is how do you know when it’s time to move on? Is it shown to us or do we just assume this is it and let go? This happens all the time in life. Do we ever get used to it or does it continue to hurt like ripping a bandaid off a sore? Interesting thought. I don’t think we ever get used to the disappointments in life. If we do then I feel we are no longer humans and start hiding our emotions too deeply. Does it really matter and what can we do? Do we just get on with what we call life and seek out the next opportunity or turn inward and don’t bother? Or do we reduce our expectations to the point where we are no longer disappointed no matter what happens? Is this really a great way of thinking 🤔 or just our way of protecting ourselves?
