Welcome!!!
I’m Andrea Atkinson Perry, and if there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is that life is never as straightforward as we imagine. It twists, surprises, teaches, wounds, heals, and, if we allow it, transforms us.
Professionally, I have built a career in Information Technology and Project Management, working across several industries before becoming the Head of Information Technology for a group of companies. Technology has challenged me to think logically, solve problems, and embrace change. Yet beyond the systems, strategies, and projects, I have always been fascinated by people, their stories, their struggles, their resilience, and the countless ways they experience life.
Reading has always broadened my perspective, and music has always nourished my soul. My tastes in both are wonderfully diverse because I believe there is something valuable to be learned from almost every voice and every experience.
Writing, however, has always been my constant. For years, I wrote mainly for myself. Then I reached a point where I realized that some thoughts are meant to be shared not kept in my head. This blog became my first step. It wasn’t about having all the answers. It was about having the courage to begin.
When I first started writing here, I simply wanted to share my own perspective on life. Over time, this space has become so much more. Through conversations with family, friends, colleagues, and even complete strangers, I have come to understand that every person carries a story worth hearing. Many of those stories have quietly found their way into these pages. Sometimes I write from my own experiences. Sometimes I write from what others have shared with me. Together, they paint a picture of what it means to be human. Life has also taught me lessons I never wanted to learn. Years earlier I had lost my mother which reminded me of the deep pain that comes with saying goodbye to the person who first loved me. The sudden loss of my father shattered my family in ways I could never have imagined. I have buried both of my parents, and there are few experiences that compare to that kind of heartbreak. Those losses changed me. They deepened my appreciation for time, relationships, faith, and the importance of living intentionally while we have the opportunity.
Perhaps that is why I continue to write. I often think about what would have happened if I had allowed fear to silence me. One day I would have looked back and wondered why I never took the chance, why I didn’t jump without the net. I never wanted regret to tell my story. I just knew the net would appear. So, I kept writing. Week after week, one blog at a time, I discovered that life is very much like climbing a mountain. You don’t reach the summit by staring at the peak. You reach it by taking the next step. Then another. And another. That philosophy has shaped much of my life. Don’t let fear of what others might think prevent you from becoming who you were meant to be. Start where you are. Use what you have. Trust that each small step matters.
I still believe the internet is one of the greatest inventions of our time. It allows ordinary people with ordinary stories to reach extraordinary audiences across the world. What once might have remained inside a notebook can now encourage, challenge, comfort, or inspire someone thousands of miles away. This blog is my little corner of that world. Here, you’ll find reflections on life, faith, relationships, personal growth, leadership, resilience, purpose, and the everyday moments that often teach us the biggest lessons. I don’t claim to have all the answers. I simply write honestly, hoping that somewhere in my words you’ll recognize a piece of your own journey.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you’ll stay awhile, read a few stories, reflect with me, and perhaps leave seeing life just a little differently than when you arrived.
