One night while watch the news they showed this woman and her children who had been homeless and through the help of Good Samaritans she now had a house for her family. It was a simple house and it was theirs. I remember the reporter asking what will be the thing that she will do first and she said have a shower. Tears came to my eyes as it’s something I see as a part of my life as a daily ritual. If there is no water to bath what to do? And it’s really bad if it’s cold, I don’t do well with cold water. I am grateful for a roof over my head, running water, especially warm water to bath. I decided to go as simple as possible. I want you to tell me what you are grateful for starting with the simple things.

The simple things in life can be the ones that make you really happy. A sunrise, a sunset, a smile, biting into a ripe fruit. I can go on and it makes you realize as I have said and can be proved with statistics it’s the experiences that makes one happy.

Interestingly as I was writing this I asked someone for the simplest thing in life that they were grateful for and he said life experiences. It might sound simple but it’s powerful. Life has taught us many things but do we learn or do we ignore them like water running off a duck’s back? Meaning they happen and it means nothing. We learn nothing from what happens to us or what happens to others. It means we do the same thing over and over and expect a totally different result. That as you know is the definition of insanity. The ability and willingness to learn from life as we go along is extremely important. If we don’t learn how do we grow? How do we pass on wisdom to the next generation? I am supposed to do what my mother and stepmother did for me, pass on whatever I learn so my kids and others I mentor avoid the same pitfalls. Use the brain given to you to make life more livable and bearable.

Lets segues into the ability to use my brain as said to me by someone else. Again sounds simple but it’s not. We could look at this from two perspectives; being willing to use our brains to the highest levels we can and/or just being able to use our brains because we can. Imagine not being able to think for yourself because it’s such a feat. Brain damage etc would reduce your ability to do anything. That’s something we take for granted, thinking. Sounds so simple but is it really? Imagine life not being how we know it to be because we can use our brains as we do now. Again such a simple thing but ….

I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too. Try commenting 👍🏽, but if you are not comfortable, reach out to me via any medium. Your comments let me know how you feel and very often give me a total different perspective on the topic. 😉. And you can never tell your comment might help others.
