As Aristotle said, “You are what you repeatedly do.” Do you agree with this statement or is it just a fallacy? I think he is right, your habits are you. You created them and you keep them constant. Only you can change them, nobody else. That’s why you have to accept responsibility for many of the things that happen in your life. It’s not always someone else fault. Accept that it’s your life and make the change, repeat and improve.

Habits

As I wrote in a previous blog practice makes permanent, this can be good or bad. It is your habits that become permanent.

Practice makes permanent

What you constantly do becomes you, it becomes a part of you. There is no other way to put it. When you repeatedly do the same thing over and over it must become you. Don’t take this as being only bad things but also the good things. When you decide that you will repeatedly exercise or save and invest as much as possible at the end of the day it becomes a part of you. Just start the process. I am a compulsive saver, have always been from I was a child. I realized that you don’t have to save a large amount but just squirreling away a small portion and it will make a difference when it is needed. I have used this example to persons many times; at the start of the year if you save $500 every month at the end of the year you have $6,000. Simple isn’t it. But if you try to find $6,000 at the end of the year it might not be easy. It’s just the habit cause by repetition. Start small and build on it and repeat.

It’s just like the food you eat, you are what you eat. Well that what is said. Is it true? 🤔. It is from all that we see. Many persons will say maybe or no, but how is the constant consuming of fast food helping you health wise or financially? Think about it. Make the change. If you can’t cook, learn. You would be surprise at what a change it can make in your life. Is this being too optimistic or can you make the change that gets you to the point where you improve. Yes, you have to have the self will, but that also comes with repetition.
