“It’s your reaction to adversity, not adversity itself that determines how your life’s story will develop.”
Dieter F. Uchtdorf

When things happen in life that should push you down with no apparent ability to bounce back how do you keep you head above the water? How do you make yourself do what you can when things look impossible? This is when you know that it’s to each their own. It just depends on your way of thinking. What do you think? How do you see yourself? Resilient or not? Willing to do whatever you can to make things work to your benefit or it’s not that simple. Is it just a matter of luck? Is it just you going after what you want?

I love the quote above as it encapsulates my way of thinking. It’s not the issues or problems that you will have throughout life that determines how your life will turn out but how you react. Very often I’m sure you might have had a situation where you had to stop and breath before saying or doing anything. You know that just lashing out and reacting will in no way make life better. It won’t improve the situation. Don’t get me wrong it’s not that you have thrown your hands up and given up, it’s just that you know it will make no difference. It took me ages to learn that this is the best way to react. My stepmom would push me in that direction. Not my parents as they would react. It was their nature.😉. Children live what they learn.

You can always learn as you grow because I feel that the best way to develop. Learning is not only from books but from others. As we see how life treats others and how they react we should learn. It might not be something that you use every day but it will always be there in the back of your mind.

Last week my son, Markel graduated from university. He is the one I think of when I think of resilience. I’m so proud of him as I’ve never seen him throw up his hands and walk away from what he wants to do. He has gone through so much in his life but never allow anything or anyone to stop him from getting what he wants to get out of life. He is resilience personified in my mind.

Let me know as I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too. Try commenting 👍🏽, but if you are not comfortable, reach out to me via any medium. Your comments let me know how you feel and very often give me a total different perspective on the topic. 😉. And you can never tell your comment might help others.
