As you would have noticed I have been focused since the start of the year on protecting our mental health. It’s so important, more important than some of us really think and understand. So last week the Sesame Street character, Elmo sent out a tweet checking in on everyone and the outpouring was tremendous, millions of responses. It shows how many persons just feel hopeless and wanted to just have someone reach out to them. So many persons have no one to turn to during those moments of hopelessness. What do we do when we feel as if there is nothing we can do to move the clouds that seem to cover us heavily? I listen to music, go walking, write among other thing and I have a support system. I can pick up the phone and call someone. It makes a difference.

On the other hand do we as friends reach out to persons that we feel might be needing that outpouring of love, it can just be a virtual hug. Remember we do this for the love and not for the likes. When we reach out the whole world does not need to know because it’s just to make sure our friends and acquaintances know that they are seen, noticed and you will be there for them. Very often it’s not about money but just how we make each other feel.

It’s so important and as I’ve always said you have to take care of your mental health and guard it jealously. Don’t let anyone try to pierce the bubble that you put around yourself. They will gaslight you and make you doubt yourself and sometimes even your own sanity. Believe me I have been there and seen it up close and personal. It’s not a nice feeling and that’s when you need people you can trust as they make that difference. They form that cocoon around you and make sure you are comfortable in your own skin. We also have to ensure we focus on ourselves and don’t allow anyone no matter who push us in a direction that makes no sense. Remember, as they say in the airplane put on your mask before you help anyone else. It’s self love to take care of you.

I remember talking to a friend one day that mentioned that they were leaving a job so as to protect their mental health. That statement made me understand that it happens to so many persons and you might never know as they say nothing. That person was able to understand that they had to step out of the environment to protect themselves. I have another friend that left a job and took a salary cut so as to protect themself from the craziness. They were happier and much better off in no time. Sometimes we have to weigh the two options a healthy life and mind or more money. Which one would you choose? And why? Would you move countries to find that inner peace?

If you are able to keep out the craziness and protect yourself and ultimately your mind then it would be easier for you as you have the formula that many don’t, why not share and ensure you look out for others that might need that help. Let me know as I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too. Try commenting 👍🏽, but if you are not comfortable, reach out to me via any medium. Your comments let me know how you feel and very often give me a total different perspective on the topic. 😉. And you can never tell your comment might help others.
