I have written on this topic before. http://www.aaatkinsonperry.com/living-in-the-moment/. But it’s a topic that I really have to come to grips with. It’s not easy and I really have to learn how to get there. I have been reading as a way to learn but it’s something that has to be practiced in order to make the impact needed.

Being a planner by nature I am always in the future but I have realized that’s not practical. What about the now? How do I live in the now? Sigh. It’s a work in progress. I have heard it said that what ever you are doing at that moment in time that should be your focus. So if you are bathing do just that, bath. If you are cooking so just that, cook. Not cook and plan the meeting for two days from now. The human mind is not meant to multitask so either the cooking is not been done properly or the meeting is not being planned properly. Believe me I know. So how do we focus on the now? How do we stay in the present? It’s really important to do so, not the past and not the future but now.

Living in the now also makes you life calmer, could it be because you are not frantically trying to forecast the future? Or reliving the past? Remember we can’t change that. We can learn from the past. It is expected or we will do the same madness over and over again and expect different results.

I’m still trying to get to the point where I live only in the now. Is it possible, is it even feasible? Does it matter? Why bother? Why not just continue as it is now? I realize that is taking the easy way out. I am now taking it a day at a time so that I can move to the point where I live in the moment, the now. It’s extremely important. I will get there, not certain when but I know it is possible. Won’t focus on the top of the mountain but I continue to put one foot in front of the other and I know it will happen. It’s not a destination but a process.

I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too. Try commenting 👍🏽, but if you are not comfortable, reach out to me via any medium. Your comments let me know how you feel and very often give me a total different perspective on the topic. 😉.
